5 Days Double Uganda Gorilla Safari starting from Rwanda

This 5-day double gorilla safari offers you the ultimate gorilla experience taking you to the Bwindi Impenetrable Nataional Park. This park is the best for gorilla tracking. Its known to hold approximately half of the word famous mountain gorillas. The safaris also offers an opportunity to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, where victims of the 1994 genocide were laid to rest. You will have two chances to track the gorillas giving you the maximum gorilla experience.

Day 1: Transfer from Airport to Hotel

On your arrival at Kigali international airport and after clearing with the immigration, our safari driver guide will brief and welcome you. The you will be transferred to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight: Marriott Hotel (Luxury hotel) or Flame Tree Village (Mid range hotel) or Quite Heaven Hotel (Economy hotel).

Day 2: A visit to Kigali genocide memorial & transfer to Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, you will checkout and head over to the Kigali genocide memorial grounds. Here, Rwandas killed in 1994 genocide are honored and laid to rest. The visit will also entail watching and listening to video clips from of the survivors. Thereafter you will drive to Bwindi through the magnificent Rwanda countryside to your hotel in time for late lunch. You will spend the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day’s trekking.

Diner and overnight: Mahogany Spring lodge (luxury lodge) or Engagi lodge/Silverback Lodge (Mid-range lodge), or Broadbill Forest Camp (Economy lodge).

Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 3: First Gorilla trekking

After early morning breakfast, prepare for briefing by a Uganda wildlife official. Thereafter enter the jungle to search the shy mountain gorillas. Enjoy their sights in their natural habitat. After meeting the gorillas, you are allowed to spend an hour with them. This gorilla safari is tasking and requires a reasonable degree of fitness. In the safari walking shoes come in handy. You will also enjoy packed food and mineral water. Insect repellent, sun screen and a hat are recommended. The tracking of the gorillas takes approximately half or whole day depending on the day’s dispersal of these primates. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to another gorilla sector within the Bwindi for your next day trekking.

Diner and overnight: Gorilla Safari lodge (luxury lodge) or Ichumba Gorilla Lodge (Mid-range lodge), or Rushaga Gorilla Lodge (Economy lodge).

Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 4: Second Gorilla trekking & community walk visit.

After early morning breakfast, you will hold a brief with a Uganda wildlife official. Thereafter enter the jungle to search the shy mountain gorillas. Enjoy their sights in their natural habitat. After meeting the gorillas, you are allowed to spend an hour with them. This gorilla safari is tasking and requires a reasonable degree of fitness. In the safari walking shoes come in handy. You will also enjoy packed food and mineral water. Insect repellent, sun screen and a hat are recommended. The tracking of the gorillas takes approximately half or whole day depending on the day’s dispersal of these primates. In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to take a village foot safari. On thus safari you will explore the indigenous local life and there will be a display of traditional performance.

Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 5: Bwindi – Kigali

After an early morning breakfast. You will enjoy a short sightseeing experience for photography. Thereafter embark onto your our safari vehicle and drive back to Kigali. After lunch, will be a drop off at the airport.
