4 Days Bwindi Forest Gorilla Tracking Safari

This gorilla safari gives you the absolute safari experience at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is one of the most sought after trekking points to spot gorillas. The park is home to half of the word famous mountain gorillas. The safari also gives you an opportunity to visit the community and also takes you to the Kigali genocide memorial grounds where over 250000 Rwandese who suffered the genocide incidence were laid to rest.

Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel

When you arrive at the Kigali international airport and having exhausted the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver guide who will offer you a short brief and transfer you to the Hotel.

Accommodation: Quite Haven (standard) or Hotel des Mille Colline (mid-range)

Day 2: Visit Kigali genocide memorial & transfer to Bwindi for Gorilla Safari

After an early morning breakfast, we will checkout from the hotel and drive to the Kigali genocide memorial grounds for a visit. This site honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandese killed in the 1994 genocide. This visit entails watching and listening to video clips of survivors. From there you will proceed on a drive to Bwindi through the magnificent route to the lodge in time for late lunch. The afternoon will be spent relaxing as you prepare for the next day’s trekking.

Accommodation: Ichumbi Gorilla lodge (standard) or Rushaga Gorilla Camp (midrange)

Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking & Transfer back to Kigali

After early morning breakfast you will have a short brief from a Uganda wildlife official. From there you will proceed on trek to search the mountain gorillas. Here you will find them in their natural habitat. Gorilla meet ups are allowed for an hour for conservation purposes. This gorilla safari is tasking and requires a reasonable degree of fitness. In the safari walking shoes come in handy. You will also enjoy packed food and mineral water. Insect repellent, sun screen and a hat are recommended. The tracking of the gorillas takes approximately half or whole day depending on the day’s dispersal of these primates. This safari will offer you an unimaginable experience and one to behold. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to Kigali.

Day 4: Transfer to the Airport

After an early morning breakfast you will be transferred to the airport to catch flight home or proceed with your safari to Tanzania or Kenya.
