7 Days Rwanda Adventure Safari

This is a 7-day epic Rwanda safari full of unimaginable adventure. The safari will give you great experiences of Rwandan game parks as you explore some of the most sought after destinations of this wonderful country. The safari will cover Nyungwe National Park and

Volcanoes National Park. Additionally a visit to Lake Kivu will spice up your stay. You will interact with the local community as you go by your day activities. Activities will include gorilla and golden monkey trekking, a lifetime adventure.

Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport and clearance with customs and immigration, our driver guide or company representative will warmly welcome you to this Land of a thousand hills, the magnificent Rwanda. He will drive you to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Kigali airport – Kigali

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

After a sumptuous buffet breakfast and subsequent checkout from the hotel, we will drive towards the western province. Along the way you will visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province. This will offer you the rich history and traditions of Rwanda and their past way of leadership of Kingshipas well as their systems of governance in the past. The lunch will be undertaken en-route. You will arrive at Nyungwe national park in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Destination: Kigali – Nyungwe

Activities: Visit Museum

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking & canopy

Today, after your early morning breakfast, you will leave your hotel to experience Nyungwe, a natural forest well known for its 13 species of primates. You’ll be transferred to the park for briefing and thereafter proceed for chimpanzee trekking. On this trek, you are entitled to a whole hour with the chimpanzees. After the trek, head for lunch followed by a canopy walk. The park has a 90-meter high suspended metallic bridge which nwill give you picturesque overview of Nyungwe forest. On a luck day you can spot one, two or more primates as you walk on the platform. Then return to the hotel/lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Musanze.

Today you are likely to catch up with the beautiful sun rise over the Lake Kivu as you enjoy breakfast. You will take a boat ride to explore the beautiful lake and its attractions. You enjoy a nature walk at one of the islands in the lake popular with bat species. This lake is also a known birding paradise hosting several bird species like the comrand, pied king fishers, weaver birds and herons just to mention but a few. On your return, you will drive off to Musanze – a roughly 3 hours’ drive. Musanze is near

Volcanoes National Park. It is a tourism area that hosts lodges since there are no lodges inside the park.

Destination: Nyungwe – Musanze

Activities: a boat ride and transfer to Musanze

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (midrange) Or The Garden Palace Hotel (standard)

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking & Cultural visit

After breakfast, prepare for the gorilla trekking. You will head to the park headquarters for a short brief then proceed to the jungle with packed lunch to search for the shy mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Once we meet the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. This gorilla safari is tasking and requires a reasonable degree of fitness. In the safari walking shoes come in handy. You will also enjoy packed food and mineral water. Insect repellent, sun screen and a hat are recommended. The tracking of the gorillas takes approximately half or whole day depending on the day’s dispersal of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, get ready for a foot safari to the village, , and get to experience the indigenous l life of the locals with a stunning display of traditional performances at Iby Iwacu cultural center. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/lodge.

Activities: Gorilla trek & Cultural tour

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

Day 6: Golden monkey & Transfer to Kigali. 

Today after an early breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for short briefing before starting off your day on golden monkey trekking. It’s epic as the gorilla trekking but not much hectic. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and later head for a canoe ride before transfer to Kigali.

Activities: Golden monkey trek & Canoe ride

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Hotel des Mille Colline (midrange) Or Quiet Haven hotel (Standard) 

Day 7: Transfer to the airport.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch up with your onward flight.
